Evening all , i have recently had my cat converter replaced by my local garage which wasnt cheap
then i within two weeks my back box starts blowing , had that replaced last week...

Now i have noticed a sound that can only be described as somebody hitting two spanners together , you can only hear it faintly and it comes and go's i have pin pointed where it is coming from and it seems to be my new exhaust system, has anybody had this when replacing the exhaust system....

The other thing i am dealing with at the moment is the coolant bubbling over and the fan kicking in with a slight steam or smoke coming from the rad...

i have had it in the garage and its not the head gasket , but the garage did not seen any problems when checking it out...
The Garage bled the system incase it was a air lock...

Now its started to do it again whilst stuck in traffic, when you turn the engine off the fan just carries on, and the water starts to bubble

The Garage just think i am mad, and i am sick to death of the problem , its not losing any water from the bottle , but you can see on the outer bottle dried waterdroplets

also my door cards passanger and drivers have started to rattle , even more so when the radios turned up , has anybody solved this or come across any of the problems???

Is there any good Garages around the Glossop , Tameside area i have totally lost faith in my regular Garage

thanks peeps
:(

Please any advice

The coolant fan has 2 speeds, when the lower speed fails it is normally the resistor that has failed and can cause the symptons you are describing.
More info here (what year is your Mini?)

The noise from your exhaust is probably a loose noise baffle inside.........was it genuine or a pattern copy part. Either way garage should replace a faulty part under the part suppliers warranty.
