Hi everyone:

This is my first post in this forum. I aprpeciate any help that you can offer. I just got my scangauge yesterday and was able to set it up to read boost. I have a -7 boost at idle that looks pretty normal from what I have read. When I turn off the engine it reads 0.0. It looks like it is calibrated correctly. The problem is that I was only able to generate 11.5 boost WOT in third gear.

I did additional research and members stated that boost goes down with other engine mods. Just last week I put in an RMW Cam,450 injectors and got a remote tune from Jan. My list of other MODS are CAI, 15% pulley and Invidia exhaust. The car puts down right around 220 HP.

Are these scangauge boost readings about right for the mods that I have on my car? Do i need to recalibrate the gauge? I am located near Washington DC and when I set the MTH screen I inputted 00910064FF70 that brought me to the 0.0 reading when I have the car shut down.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Im not too savvy yet with the scangauge but im awaiting one... ive read up on how to calibrate it and thats seems to be correct.. Does the car feel ok? or does it feel like its down on power?

Ask this on MINI Torque.com they will answer better...

Thanks for your reply Scottyboy. After the cam, injectors and tune the car is running incredibly well. I'm just a little surprised at the boost reading. Thought for sure that the boost would be a least 15 psi.

I have a ScanGaugeII on my 2006 Cooper, but having no forced induction system have no 'boost pressure' as suuch to monitor.
I did monitor the inlet manifold air pressure for a while, but found it of little use so changed that parameter to something more useful!
It could well be as ScottyBoy says a calibration issue as you're reading -0.7 (psi?) at tickover which I would expect to be closer to 0, being supercharged there maybe some slight 'forced induction' at this point
There is also the issue of the difference between 'absolute' and 'gauge' when measuring pressure?

... as you're reading -0.7 (psi?) at tickover which I would expect to be closer to 0.
The Scangauge on my 2002 MCS reads between -8 and -9 at idle.

I've never tried taking a max boost reading.

AFAIK it should say 0 when turned off an as you say -7 etc when idling..
