: removing the silencer/muffler

Hi guys

I've got an r56 with JCW engine + body kit, and I wish to remove the back part of the silencer (the box/muffler) for a couple of days to have a 'noisier' exhaust sound. (I know it may not sound as nice, but I wish to try it out and experience it hands on) - I will be putting everything back in place as it was in a short time, but I wish to try this small "mod"....

However, I'm wondering if I remove such part, will the computerized system/ecu or whatever part is in charge, notice the difference, and maybe starts lighting up a warning? or will I experience, or incurr any damage to the mini?

My wish is to remove the box, try it out for a couple of days without it, and refitting it after I've enjoyed the noisier part of it :)

Thanks

Is it legal to run without a muffler?
