Like the title says, when I am driving along it seriously is a rocky ride :hmph: If I go over a pot hole, drain or hump, the car feels like I am going over a mountain and the glove box slams open (to give you an idea of how big the problem is).

When I had my Cooper S put through the Inspection II they said I needed the Front Bushes and Front Ball Joints done. I am no mechanic but can follow instructions quite easily so has anyone used the Haynes Manual for these 2 jobs and were they that difficult? Where are the best places to purchase these?

Are the Front Bushes and Ball joints, possible reasons for the car to not absorb the bumps so bad?

Sorry for the long winded post and thanks in advance for any replies

Could be worn out shocks ... what's your car's mileage?

Does it have runflat tires?

Yes it does have Runflats, and the mileage is; 80,000ish. Are the shocks difficult or expensive to replace?

they arnt difficult, but they arnt cheap either. your probably best going for some after market ones tbh. either the Koni FSD if you dont want to change the ride height, or if you would like to lower the car, a set of coilovers. both offer better than stock (depending on coilover brand) suspension and comfort.

the FSD are just the damper/shock and you keep your original springs, the coilovers are shocks and springs with adjustable ride height (usually between 30mm and 65mm on the MINI)
