: Can you track build progress in UK?

I've noticed that a few US owners have been able to track the progress of their MINI at the factory through the Owner Lounge on the MINI website - there's no such section on the UK website....would be good to track 'Pepper's progress!!!!

Hi Jane

I sell MINI's and our systems allows us to see everything from when the cars are confirmed at production control through to paintshop complete and final tracking by the day it left the plant and how many days it is in transit and then I would say a 95% hit rate on delivery dates it's only the Countryman that is letting us down at the moment by being so long to get here. I'm always keeping my customers upto date with what some seem to think to be trival information like " It's just gone into paintshop" sometimes I think Im more excited than they are, but some like it. I hope by now you have your new MINI or are you getting an 11 plate. The new lci model is without doubt the best they have made so far. You will love it.

Tracking build progress for the Countryman in the UK was (and probably still is) a nightmare. It's not as if Mini UK can pretend they don't know about the problem anymore, and it CAN obviously be done as peole in the USA seem to be able to get much more detailed information out of the factory in Graz than dealers in the UK.

Leaving aside the issues with the recent bad weather and parts supply problems, the issue Mini UK have to address with the Countryman is keeping people informed; most people will accept delays particularly with a new and popular model, what they find hard to take is a lack of information.

It has obviously cost Mini orders, as well as some good will; I came very close to cancelling my order, and only really stayed with it because the dealer had given me a pretty good deal, and were obviously as frustrated as I was!

Things may improve now the delays are working through the system, but Mini UK need to look seriously at introducing a US style owners lounge.

What dealership are you at, I'll come and buy a car from you if you phone me everytime it goes through a new process.

I hate waiting and am an information freak

I am getting my Countryman Cooper D All4 from Soper Mini in Lincoln.
The salesperson I am dealing with is called Hannah and she has kept me completely up to date.
She calls me on a weekly basis, even before my car went into production, just to keep my up to speed. Now that the Countryman is in the build process, she has called me to let me know as it progresses.
If she is going to be out of the office for a number of days (like earlier this week) she even calls me to let me know that and gives me a name I can reach to ask about my car!

I am seriously impressed with this dealership and would recommend them to anyone. Its my first time with MINI and I like what I am seeing.

Agreed! Isn't she good?

(Hannah might let you take a peek at my OG one if you're local and interested as it's waiting for me to collect on Wednesday.)
