Hi all,

have just found out my 04 works has got a cracked head. Was just about to get a new one until i found out it is supposed to have a different head to the standard cooper s. Can someone confirm this and let me know what the difference is?

if anyones got links to pictures of the two that would be good too

The Works head has been ported and polished, but just a little. They didn't improve its flow over the stock S head very much.
Otherwise, it's the same as an S head.
If you need a new head (and you do if yours is cracked), a properly ported and polished one from an
aftermarket source would be better and probably cheaper than a new or refurbished Works head from MINI.
Since yours is cracked, you'd also be out a core charge (usually about $500 in the US) as you won't have an intact
core to give to a tuner.
Can't give you specific recommendations as I'm only familiar with people that do this on our side of the pond.
