The MCR have just issued this Press Release ( note the celebration of 10 years of MINI) :

National Mini Cooper Day, Beaulieu National Motor Museum,
12 June 2011

This year the Mini Cooper Register is celebrating 50 years of the marque that added the speed and sporting pedigree to the Mini name.

Visitors to the Register’s 25th National Day at Beaulieu can look forward to a memorable array of cars illustrating the evolution of the Mini Cooper, together with some rare examples of the Coopers that followed, right through to the latest incarnation of the brand - the BMW Mini Cooper.

Cars on display will include a Cooper Formula Junior single seater and an early tuned 850 Mini (credited with providing the inspiration for the Mini Cooper), through the earliest surviving 997 Cooper, and examples of all the other Cooper variants built. Mk1s, MK2s, MK3s, Rover Coopers and foreign built Coopers such as the Innocenti, Authi and Australian models will all be there.

There will also be the usual Beaulieu favourites of the Ex-Works and competition cars, coach built Coopers such as Radford and Wood and Picket cars, and hundreds of Mini Coopers and Minis of all types in the visitors’ car park. A separate celebration is also planned to mark the first ten years of the BMW MINI.

Trade and autojumble stands will offer plenty of opportunity for shopping and the admission price includes free entry to Beaulieu’s famous motor museum.

Once again the respected motoring author and historian Graham Robson will provide the commentary on the day and interview the celebrity guests who regularly attend this unique gathering.

Following on from the success of last year, advance booking not only provides a substantial saving over the on-the-gate price but also provides a swift and seamless entry through a gate specifically reserved for the purpose.

The date for your diaries is Sunday 12 June, and the venue is in the heart of the new Forest in Hampshire. Gates open at 10am. Ticket prices are £9.75 (£5.00 for children) in advance or £12.50 (£6.25 for children) on the day. Prices for non Minis/MINIs on the day are £15.00 (£7.50 for children).
