: Engine spec changes?

I'm looking to return to the MCS fold after a 4 year MX5/Miata sabbatical :)

I've been looking around used MCS and have noticed that some of the more recent ones are quoted as having 184bhp and 136g/km emissions, as opposed to 175bhp and 149g/km. I've also seen some 2007ish reviews that mention emissions around 164g/km.

Can someone please advise me when the changes in power and emissions happened?

p.s. can't believe the economy and refined ride quality of the mk2 MCS compared to my lunatic 2004 MCS Works - er....19mpg anyone;)

do it do it do it do it do it!!!

Ive just bought a 2007 R56 MCS having previously owned four R53 ones over the years! :D

Mine has a August 2008 engine fitted (due to a persistant fault) and its like a rocket ship!! Im seeing 40.2 mpg on average too! I think its better in EVERY way to the R53, well worth the change and a nice one can easily be found for 10-12k.

Only had mine three days and cant stop smiling! I think its April 08 for the lower emissions one, check the parkers website for tax banding and that'll tell you!

These changes occurred with March 2010 production for most markets and with September 2010 production for the US.
