My new beast, after my mini one got stolen and is no doubt being ragged about a gypsy camp somewhere ... havent seen this color scheme so far, do you guys think bonnet stripes are needed??

Personal preference and all that but I'd say no to stripes but yes to a dechrome..

Pretty much anything chrome on your mini can be replaced with black parts, or some carbon fibre.

However!...I've researched into this as im also looking into dechroming and a lot of guys are using tape as a much cheaper option. Now you might be thinking tape?! that sounds like a dodgy bodge job... but seriosuly look into it...

'3M Scotchcal striping tape, 1/2" thick in satin black' (not gloss). I think the 3M product number is 72793.

Really effective, from what i've heard a little tricky...but you can buy extra tape and have as many goes at it as you want!

I'll let you know how i get on and post some pics of the results when im all dechromed.

The tape isn't the easiest job in the world, but it's alot easier than vinyl. Wrapping anything regardless of size can at times be a complete nightmare. The fact that you can buy the tape and have a go yourself is a plus too, rather than shelling out for a high end vinyl (that will mold into the shape you wish to wrap easily....ish, put up with weather conditions etc) and then pay someone to do it for you.

Nice motor! I'm going to buck the trend here and say yes to stripes as I test drove one with same colour scheme (but with stripes) and thought it looked great.

yes stripes set it off

there is a high temp electrical tape that is produced. works perfect for the beltline and wont budge even in hot sun. Ive used it on my r53 and r55 in florida heat and its great. Plasti-dip works on most other bits for coloring... (practice first with the plastidip (; )

You need some sport stripes, Viper stripes down the middle

stripes to match the wheels

I would go with stripes. Don't forget they make the car go faster!!!

You are correct, best colour combo all day long! dont put any bonnet or vipers on it though! maybe some sport stripes along the bottom of the doors...

Never seen one with a chrome filler cap before.

I think maybe Black the bonnet vent to top it off, stripes may just slightly throw it over the top

When I get my mini this is the color scheme i was looking for.

Black Rims, PW Body, Black Roof, Black Bonnet, Black Hatch. Dechrome the headlight rings into white to contrast the black bonnet. Dechrome everywhere else black or CF.

I can try to photoshop it but i suck at it.

Stripes and a De-Chrome both sound good to me! Maybe go Matt black on the stripes though?

I agree with the black. Maybe even coat your hood scoop in some black. I did mine on my laser blue and I love it! Also, the handle in the back above the license plate. Nice looking ride!
