Ok, so I've searched the forums and have found information about the clicking at low speeds when turning the steering wheel. I've followed some advice to lubricate the column bearing, but have experienced no change.

I've had endless problems with this car since owning it for a month or so, and think its time to try and take it back to the dealer.

The problem I have is I get the clicking steering column at low speeds (such as when parking) but also when turning corners at moderate speeds (about 25mph) I've also noticed that the column doesn't click when the car has been parked overnight (or if the weather is cold, not sure which as it hasn't done it straight away the last 2 mornings, but its been very cold so not sure if that changes the problem) it does then start doing it by the time I get into work, about 15 minutes drive.

Now I know there are some front suspension bushes that need doing, and the offside CV joint has some wear, but does it seem that my steering column IS on the way out, or could it be down to the bushes or something?

Thanks for your help

If it is the steering column bearing clicking it can be concerning when you first get a Mini with the noise but unless there is play in the column it is not an urgent fix and grease normally quietens it for a while. More info here on column repair and replacement costs, etc:

Had a call from the garage on Saturday, and they've agreed the column is on its way out so have replaced both upper and lower columns under warranty. Hopefully this will be an end to all the problems I've had with the car! :D
