Hello there, I am new to this forum. I bought a 2008 mini one yesterday.
I am a little puzzled. I have been reading that there is a bluefin superchip that brings the 90bhp to 120bhp. What i am confused about is it says it will only work on a 2001-2007 mini, And not a 2008 model. My mini is a 1.6 and is 90bhp so i do not understand this? If it is not attainable what other superchips is there out there that will work on my model? Also what exhaust system would be the best for my car? thanks alot.

Looks like Superchips has not developed a remap for the 2nd Gen MINI One yet.

You might want to check with our Sponsors (Evolve Automotive (http://www.mini2.com/forum/evolve-automotive/) and Performance Torque (http://www.mini2.com/forum/performance-torque/)) to see if they have a remap.

My car is a converitble model, According to various websites such as wikipedia and even on here, The second generation of the convertibles were realsed in 2009. My car is a 2008 so is it still a r52? So will the bluefin chip work? Thanks.

IIRC, the second generation convertibles did come out in 2009 and the "One" was dropped in favour of an entry level 1.6 (with 120bhp), while the 1.4 power the hatchback One. It sounds like you have the R52 with the detuned 1.6 engine and Superchips say this is remappable. Imho, you are better off contacting them direct and confirming before parting with the cash rather than trusting a bunch of people off the internet and potentially getting something you can't use :D

You forgot to mention it was a Convertible in your original post ;)

R52 models were produced through the end of July 2008. You can verify the build date of your MINI by following the instructions in the How can I find out when my MINI was built? (http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item#faq_faq_build_date) FAQ.

Assuming your MINI is a 1st Gen model, I'm moving this thread to the 1st Gen Tuning forum.
