Hi

Wondered if anyone knows if you can still do a cherished plate transfer at the local DVLA office (with them issueing new tax disc and MOT) and move the plate to the new car instantly?

Did it about four years ago but wondered if it was still possible?

Cheers

Yes you can, cost is £80 to do straight transfer or £105 to put it on retention. As far as I am aware you cannot get DVLA to do the paperwork there and then, you have to leave it with them. I pit my papers in last Monday and I am hoping to have them back in the next day or so they wil need both V5s, MOT and a photocopy of the road tax. You can download the forms from Internet, I think it's a 317 form you need.

Good luck.

Hi Jane/Mandy

Paperwork into DVLA yesterday but they said it would take around a week. Good to hear that you got yours faster! Hoping mine will be turned around as quickly! :-)

Cheers
