: Practical?

I am considering whether I should buy a convertible Cooper S or a hard top. 05-06 models.

What I'm trying to find out from owners is whether the convertible is practical.

Does the 'rollover safety-section' hinder practicality much when you need to carry lots os stuff with the rear seats folded down?

When you need to carry lots and fold the rear seats down : is there much difference in loading capacity between the convertible and the hard top?

Thank you very much and I'm looking forward to hearing your experiences - (especially from owners of both cars).

I,ve had both, with the seats down the carrying capacity of the convertible is no different to the hatch, but last year we went on holiday in the convertible and got all the luggage we needed in the boot.this year we took the same bags in the hatchback and i had to leave the parcel shelf at home with the luggage partly blocking the rear view,it seems like the convertible has a noticeably deeper boot space, as the larger bag would lie down flat in the boot, but wold not in the hatchback,so get the convertible if that is all thats stopping you:)
