Does anyone know where I can get some smoked/black side indicators for my 08 plate mini one??

all the ones i can find are for the 1st gen mini. can only find clear ones for the 2nd gen.

I would also be interested to know this :) as a newbie to BMW Mini ownership I'm keen to know about such upgrades. Its seems there is far more info/interest for for first genration Minis. Also regarding bulbs whats the score with 'Canbus' ?

Theres some pretty trick black LED units on ebay right now.

Failing that you can buy tinted film or spray paint cheaply for the black effect on your current units.

I had the same grief looking for clear/chrome ones. Loads really cheap for R50, not much for R55>

The LED units have a flylead that plugs into the MINIs bulbholder. No CANBUS issues or soldering needed

outmotoring has a pair that looks really good. A bit pricey though.
