Hi all,

I'm due to take delivery of a new countryman in about 10 weeks and I've been thinking of getting tinting, paint protection and interior protection done. Only thing is that the dealers charge a real premium for this service.

Any advice out there about where to get great tinting and paint protection in Brisbane for a good price and with a good warranty on the service?

I wouldn't waste money on the protection products at all.

Tint is a mine field as well. I have had few cars done at small tint place in Browns Plains. Great price and a good job. I will look up their details and let you know.

Thanks mowog,

Much appreciated. Seems that the whole 'paint protection' thing is quite a minefield. The variations in pricing from business to business is insane.......

I have had two minis tinted with Art of Tinting 0414327429.They are eastside, will travel and don't have to. run a shopfront.Reasonable price, good product. Also0738225138.BMW dealers also give the spiel that you need BMW technicians etc.I haven't found that to be the case.

Thanks Hermie,

I'll definitely follow that up when my countryman arrives. I've ordered the factory fitted sun glazing so will just need the front windows tinted to match the rest. Was quoted almost $700 by the local dealer for this...... a little too much, I think.

paint protection is a fallacy. Get yourself a reasonable wax, apply it once every 6 months (12 months if you're a bit less enthusiastic), job done. The dealers in most cases use a cheap spray on solution that is lucky to even last for 6 months.

Oh and I wouldn't be a good nephew if I didn't recommend my uncle for tinting, however he's down the Gold
Coast, 'Instint'.
