Good evening everybody, :)

I have some questions that I did not know how to resolve in spite of some research (maybe bad?).
I possess a Mini One pack 1.6 of 2002 and I wish to change the car radio BOOST.
I saw that it was necessary to buy a special piece to make the compatible car radio. What is this piece? Where may I buy it? (I heard about ISO, but I do not know about it more!)

I wondered , if we need a plastic mask for the circumference of the car radio there? (Some car need to fill the hole around the car radio) and if every car radios were compatible?

Finally, last question, is that Shift Knob could adapt itself in my mini or needs it a mini special Shift knob? Where to buy it?

I hope to have been clear :)

Thank you ;)

PS: Sorry if me english is rather bad

I've just had a new CD player put in my Mini One and there are a few bits it requires..

Firstly there's a wiring adaptor to connect the CD player to your Mini's wiring loom. This depends on which one your Mini has (flat or round pins), but both are usually the same price.

Secondly there's the fascia plate. This is the bit surrounding the radio to make it fit into the console.

Thirdly, you may also need an adaptor to your car's aerial for the radio.

Halfords in the UK do a compatibility checker on their website Halfords (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categorydisplay_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_cate goryId_165474_langId_-1) (pick a radio and click on the "Advice: Will this fit my car" option)
but when I booked to install my new stereo there, they still expected there to be a chance it would be different (fortunately they simply swap the required bits). Very happy with the result although I wish they'd be a bit more open about the price of the CD Player not including the £50 (or more!) of extra parts it'll actually take to use it on your car.

No idea about the gear knob, although having had to replace the one on our other Mini, it does look like it's a fairly standard socket, but doing a google for "Gear knob for Mini One" seems to bring up a reasonable set of results with surprisingly little porn :)

(edit) Actually, it also included this link to "How to Change a Mini Gear Knob" on this very forum :)

The most popular aftermarket gear knob for the MINI is the Whalen Shift Machine ...

:search: Keyword(s): whalen (http://www.mini2.com/forum/search.php?query=whalen&exactname=1&starteronly=0&forumchoice%5B%5D=0&childforums=1&titleonly=1&showposts=0&searchdate=0&beforeafter=after&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending&replyless=0&replylimit=0&searchthreadid=0&saveprefs=1&quicksearch=0&searchtype=1&nocache=0&ajax=0&userid=0)

Thanks for your reponse, that's nice !

@ Zwilnik: Thanks, you're reponse was very clear ;)
I must to buy a fascia plate and a wiring adaptator.

There isn't any problem with the fascia plate because i understand that is universal.
But how can i know if my Mini has flat or round pins without unsettling the headunit? It's a MINI One pack 2002 with Radio BOOST.
( I found a pack on amazon "BMW Mini Full Facia Iso Fitting kit" but i don't know if it works for my Mini :/ )

Thanks for the website Halfords, i didn't know this before.

And thanks for the links to change a mini Gear knob. But where can i buy one?
I search on ebay, but i don't find anything interrested.

@ MINIAC: Thanks, it's look great, but it's expensive !
