I have just installed a pair of alpine speakers in my 03 mini cooper

I have a a quite recent Sony Head Unit and I didn't install it, the guys at the garage I bought it from installed it and apparently used the correct converter but I don't know until I track down the box with the tools in to remove the unit itself to have a look.

After the install I noticed only the front tweeters were working after using the fade function on the head unit. Can anyone please tell me where or what I have done wrong?

I had to snip the original plug off the rear speakers and use the ones Alpine had supplied.
