MINI has just released official details, photos and now pricing for the eagerly awaited all-new 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe. Available in three different trim levels, including the Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works, base Coupe model starts at $22,000 and will come equipped with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 121-hp and 118 lb-ft of torque.
So if you already thought the Coupe was mostly similar to the hard-top hatchback model, you now have another reason, with the base price just $900 more than the traditional MINI.
The mid-level S model starts at $25,300 and gets a turbocharger delivering 181-hp and 177 lb-ft of torque with a special overboost function producing 192 lb-ft of torque.
The high-performance John Cooper Works Coupe starts at $31,900 and gets a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder producing 208-hp and 192 lb-ft of torque with overboost allowing 207 lb-ft. This Coupe is capable of a 0-60 time in 6.1 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph. This makes the JCW Coupe, the "fastest-accelerating Mini ever (with) the highest top speed," the company says.
