: Which ScanGauge?

Hello folks

I want a OBD2 code reader and also miss having a fuel computer built in (not activated on mine).

The ScanGauge comes highly recommended. Other than the ScanGauge2 having the ability to show 4 gauges/readouts at once, is there any other major difference between getting the ScanGauge2 or the ScanGaugeE which is considerably cheaper.
If I can flick through or select other gauges depending on what I'm doing, I probably don't actually need to display more than 2 at once.

The ScanGuageE hasn't been on the market that long.

Depends on what features you want and how much you want to spend ;)

Do these record events? I have seen one that does mpg etc and you can down load to you PC up to 300 trips

Thanks Miniac, I found their website late last night, I was going to post a link like above to answer my own question.

Still undecided though, I'm not made of money so it's not sensible to overspend, but the ScanGauage2 is still under the price I had budgeted to get the MINI trip computer (with far less features) activated at a dealer. (£100 + 1/2 and hour labour I believe)

If only the ScanGaugeE existed I'd be pleased with the feature set but now I'm thinking - "will I regret not getting the extra features on the 2?"
It appears I have lost the ability to make a decision. :)

Right, decision made! ScanGauge2 it is!

There's a couple of X-Gauge's that I think are nice to have.
1. air/fuel ratio - I suspect my S runs rich above 4000 rpm from the way the engine pulls and the tone of the engine. That should answer that one.
2. Ambient air temp, small thing but I've had it on every car for the last 10+ years, seems odd not having it now.

Both are keenly priced and within budget but I'll go for the extra features.

I know you can use the X-Gauge for Supercharger Boost (http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-mini-tuning/153636-scangauge-xgauge-boost.html), but how do you use it for air fuel ratio?

These are the X-Gauge's for A/F ratio on ISO & VPW (I believe the MINI uses the ISO protocol?);

... I believe the MINI uses the ISO protocol?
My 1st Gen MCS does ... I just confirmed this by pressing "MORE > MORE > MODE" on my ScanGauge .

For future reference ...

I wonder if you can use the "General" entry?
