Hi

If anyone is interested, I got a cable from Amazon that has connected my iphone to my Mini Countryman.

I did try the white apple cable, plus bought a cheap Y cable originally, neither of which worked, however the one on Amazon did for £20. The ipod plays and displays on the radio and my phone still connects to the bluetooth in the car. :D:D

This is the item on Amazon - BMW Mini Cooper iPod iPhone iPad Interface iDrive Cable 61120440796 (61 12 0 440 796) USB Aux Adapter Lead Cord Wire Line Out Aux

However, I did try it on my very old original 'ipod mini' and that didn't connect - although I suspect thats down to my ipod being one of the very originals and not equipped to connect to cars. :nice:

I just did the same. Still waiting for mine to arrive though, so I'll wait to see if it works!

Hi,
I was recently given a brand new genuine BMW Mini iPod cable. It connects and plays perfectly but the iPod display just says it is connected to an accessory and you can't see information on its screen while connected as you can when it's plugged in to a docking station. Anyone else experience this?
I know you get info on the 2 line radio display but it's rather fiddly and as I'm not totally used to it yet, a bit hit and miss.

hii, does the cable that you've bought on amazon allow you to change tracks through the multi-functioning steering wheel? I just have my iphone connected with an ordinary AUX cable but i have to change through the tracks on my phone which is a pain. The cable on MINI is £42.95 (?!) but when i bought my car the guy said this one lets you change tracks on the steering wheel...if i can get one cheaper that does the same thing i'll be doing that x
