Hello!

I've joined the club...and ordered a new mini!
I've recently purchased a new Mini Pimlico. It was due to be delivered within the next 2-3 weeks, but mini have called to say that it's delayed until Mid Sept :(
They said it was because any minis with the media pack are on hold as they can't get a component at the moment....although I wonder if this is rubbish?!

Anyway cannot wait to get my new mini! It'll be my first one.

I'm sure I'll be posting on here again. ;)

I'll wait to hear what my dealer says, but I'm interested which component is causing the delay, as when I originally specced my MCS, I wanted just the Visual Boost Radio with Mini Connected, but was told I had to order the Full Media Pack, including Sat. Nav.

Sounds like u've had a right time of it. Yea would make sense if it's the same reason. All they told me was that they can't get this component for the media pack and they can't continue until they have it. They gave me some half hash reason about the country they get it from had a natural disaster so can't source it? But she couldn't tell me which country, what actually happened and exactly what the part is.

I did wonder if they have hit their quota for this yr so just pushed my delivery date bk?! Thats what car sales are like.

I really hope u get to the bottom of urs and find out what's going on.

Found this piece of info, which I intend asking my dealer about, as this article is dated the same day my order was confirmed !

Oh my god! This sounds exactly right. I cannot believe they let us both order the car with it knowing that they couldnt produce it! I will definitely be calling tomorrow to find out why.

What I want to know from them is:
1 Is this the reason for the delay ?
2 Is so, then is the new date I've been given just 'wishful thinking' (push it back 4 weeks and see what happens) or whether the components are coming back in.

I will be asking the exact same questions today!

not sure if this helps, but I ordered my new Mini here in Germany, and I was told to expect another 3-4 weeks than normal for delivery. This is apparently due to the navigation systems coming from Japan, which they are apparently having problems with?

Not sure if its true as I haven't got it yet, but I am praying that it won't be too late because I can't wait to get it!!!

Went in to see my dealer, but they were still trying to get updated info, as the computer is showing build week 32, delivery week 34, but it is also showing a code number 5055 followed by 'production control confirmed'

At last ! as of today, my MCS is now at 5270 (Paintshop complete) ..... now it's real.

Update 16/8 - just left the factory, on the way to my dealership.
Update 27/8 - Went to see it a few days ago, after being delivered to the dealership. Looks great, even with all the stickers and plastic bags on the seats. Picking it up Sept. 1st on a '61 plate.
