: Help needed with Parrot 9000 & MFSW integration on 2011 MCS

Hey guys,

I was going to get Bluetooth Retrofit Kit installed to my 2011 MCS last week. Instead, I was told by MINI of San Francisco folks that my MCS is too new (there was a cut-off manufacturing date around fall 2010, I recall), and the retrofit kit is not compatible. I was also told that there is no future plan of making it compatible as of today.

Now I'm looking into 3rd party options.

This is my goal:

1) To integrate bluetooth/hans-free call/iPhone connectivity.
2) Use NO external control/display.
3) Use MFSW (and possibility the phone button on radio console?) as much as possible.

And this is what I'm planning to do:

A) Use Parrot MKi9000.
B) Use NewMiniStuff harness to use MFSW.
C) See if microphone from MKi9000 can be fitted in the center roof console like the factory kit.

I've emailed Mike at NewMiniStuff last week with some questions, but so far I got no reply from him.

From what I've read, I think 1-3 should be possible with my plan. A and B are looking promising if I'm understanding the NewMiniStuff descriptions right.

Has anyone tried C part? I might have to modify the MKi9000 mic, probably taking it apart to the minimum components, no arms. but it seems the idea should work considering there is a space in the roof console for the factory kit.

Any inputs, information, experience sharing would be deeply appreciated. I'm having a local audio guy (referred by MINI SF) for the installation.

TIA!
