Hi Guys,

I am looking at a rather large RMW kit to include:

Bored head, Exhaust Manifold w/ V-band, 550cc Injectors, Semi-race Camshaft, Gaskets, ARP Head Studs, Tune Box, Dyno Tune, Pistons & Con-rods.

I have seen some horrific crankshaft accidents here and elsewhere and wanted to know if this is a common problem, I asked Jan and naturally he said it was, is it recommended to upgrade the crank too?

I doubt you'll find many members here who've taken their MINI to that level ;)

Jan builds engines for the track so I'd assume he knows what he's talking about.

Its a $2K option... so I don't want to just buy one on a whim...

If you do have the extra $$$ go for it..If not at least get ARP rod bolts the oem ones wont make it past 7,5k rpm in that power output.. :p
