Has anyone fitted a MINI cd changer in to the upper glove box compartment? Are the cables already there or do I need to buy some sort of kit as well as a changer?

From what I've read the wires should be there. I'd probably take the liner out of the upper glovebox and check.

I recomend getting either the AUX or the ipod hook up. Its a direct line so no need to worry about static you would get from FM transmitters and on top of that you eliminate the need to carry CDs with you all the time.

Thanks I have got a Aux lead for my iphone and that works but whenever i sync my Iphone with my mac it randomly deletes contacts telephone numbers so I try to avoid plugging it in now to upload new albums now :smile:

best check with your dealer with your car vin to see if it's cd prepped..

i've just had a quote from the dealer i was going to have mine done till they told me the price..

Did you get anywhere with this ? My other half has a 2011 Cooper with Visual Boost but wants the multichanger as well. When I removed the storage tray from the compartment I could see no cable.... or are they taped/clipped into the loom ?

I suspect I need to take more of the trim out to see properly.

If any one has any ideas then would appreciate it.

I've just removed my wife's CD Multi-changer, this was fitted in the boot. (now for sale) has a 6 disc cartridge too.

the thing that really put me off was you have to buy another door(bit that pops up)to fit the changer..

Hmmmm well the dealers arn't usually the sharpest pencils in the box are they ? The build/order sheet shows nothing other than 'Visual Boost', 'Harmon Kardon HiFi' and 'Basic Bluetooth with USB'

Why do BMW/MINI have to make things so bloody complicated ?

I just bought a 6 disk cd changer, found the cables in the boot, put the bracket onto the sid eto secure the unit but no power? The unit came with a 3A fuse but can't see where the fuse fits in the fuse fits. Any ideas? My cooper is a 2002 model.
