Hi All

Im new to the forum wondered if any of you may be able to help with a problematic cooper s i have,

its a 2007 (45k miles) recently developed the 'death rattle' swapped the cam chain, tensioner, guide rails & oil - job done rattle gone.

Now next problem, engine management light on, mechanic had a look at the fault, code reading 'bank 1' (suspected pre cat lambda sensor). The car was due MOT so decided to put it through test to see how emissions read - car failed on everything possible on emissions. Decided to swap the pre cat lambda, which thankfully flew through the re-test.
However now the car seems to run terrible, lack of turbo and excessive fuel consumption???? not sure what to do now as the emissions test passed with flying colours!

forgot to add all recent parts ive bought are genuine,

Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks
Ben

If the problem is since the timingchain replacement, maybe the valve timing is out, as a ill running vehicle can pop up a lambda fault as there is to much unburnt fuel entering the exhaust.

Did you get this sorted? Which sensor was it? Top or bottom as there are 2 sensors on the 2007 cooper S.
