Would this combination of wheels/tyres/offset be OK for a 2011 Mini Cooper S ?

17 x 7 Wheels with ET38
215/45/17 Goodyear Eagle F1-A2 tyres

I don't know if the 2nd Gen MINIs have more room in the wheel wells, but a 1st Gen with that low a wheel offset and those taller tires might be susceptible to rear tire rub if the car was lowered or was carrying 4 people.

OK, thanks ...... I wasn't sure what the limit was, as I've seen a few different comments. I definitely won't be lowering it, and the ET38 was on a particular set of wheels.

You shouldn't have any problems with a 215/40-17 tire fitment on ET38 wheels.

Again, thanks for the info ..... I'm nervous about going to 40 profile tyres, mainly because the potholes around parts of Leeds can devour half a wheel, no problem.
I have plenty of time to look around, as I'm looking for a summer set of wheels /tyres for next spring. I'll probably go for the Goodyears on my OEM wheels for a start.
