Hi,

I had new brake pads fitted to the rear of my mini one the other day. After about 10 minutes of driving i get a knocking noise coming from the offside rear. Could this be due to the way the pads have been fitted or have the garage damaged anything.

Any replies would be appreciated.

Firstly, does the knocking stop if you gently apply the footbrake or carefully pull up the handbrake a little whilst driving?

check the wheel bolts are tight and to the correct torque

Check to see if the clips (on the back of the pads) have been placed around the piston. Also check to see if any of the steel springs or clips are missing from the pad/bracket interface. GL
