My cooper S is the second generation and the leather bit is attached to the gear knob. the gear knobs is rather loose now and I dont know how to change it. PLEASE HELP THANKS :) :D S8RAH Sep 3rd, 2011, 08:37 AM You need to remove the entire gaiter and knob assembly. Gently, slide a slim metal lever between the trim piece at the bottom of the gaiter and the console and apply a little inward pressure to release the clips. Do this all the way round then remove the trim. Now the dangerous bit! Get hold of the knob and pull upwards, the whole thing comes away in one piece. This is dangerous as you need to keep your face out of the firing line, it flies up when released. | ||
