is there any other way of increasing the sound of the supercharger other than upgrading your supercharger pully

You can fit an air intake which takes air from the cowl area (eg. JCW, Alta, Dave.f).

If you're going to spend money why not have a reduction pulley fitted ;)

If you are happy to pay for quality, this item was one of the very best upgrades that I fitted to my old R53:

THE GT TUNING PERFORMANCE PARTS DESIGN & PRICING POLICY (http://www.gtt.uk.com/parts1.asp)

There are cheaper options out there if you're not too fussy.

^^ Lol, makes a great noise but looses power.

You could try removing the underbonnet sound deadening material

I see that your grip on reality is as tenuous as ever! :p :D At least you drive an R53 so all is not lost :D

The performance on mine was sadly lacking after I reinstalled the original filter.

Is there a reason you would not recommend this?:)

I used to have the GTT one, it did sound good but I read a couple of accounts of them loosing power when on a dyno. Switched over to the Dave F Hybrid, the whine sounds almost as good + I've seen 2 occasions of people doing back to back tests with other CAI's, the Dave F gained at least 5 bhp each time, different owners on different dyno's.

If you just want a good noise the GTT can be picked up at good prices 2nd hand these days, if you want a fairly good noise but with guaranteed gains (I did) then try the Dave F.

When I removed mine for the trip back to the dealer for trade in, I was shocked to find that I had to be in one gear lower with the standard airbox to achieve the same performance. Overtaking that was usually achieved in 4th had to be done in 3rd.

Don't worry Hartge210, it's only another 18 posts until I retire from Mini2 and then you can make up all the stories that you like about GTT products!

Not making anything up at all, if I can find the dyno print outs I'll post them up, as soon as anyone can prove to me the same for the GTT HAI I'll shut up .

Have a look for posts on here & Mini Torque about member 2much's GTT Turbo conversion .

Spoke to a chap recently who had a GTT 260 bhp car, very interesting conversation .

My GTT strutbraces/expansion tank/dipstick/oil cap are all still working fine though
