: Update of my Mini Stortford Sep 4th, 2011, 08:25 PM At the workshop all night doing paintwork on my car.
Attached are the pictures which will show the following:
Blacked out front grill (cheap skate, saving my pennies for wheels)
Repainted roof, mirrors and external plastics in black gloss.
Doesnt sound much but it is when youre working through the night with no shops open to get ciggies or beer LOL. solidsponge Sep 4th, 2011, 09:39 PM Ah cool you resprayed the whole roof and mirrors! Looks more masculine now :) looks like you are de-chroming? Some people turn the headlight rings to black too. I would say with your painting skills you should look at getting a cooper s front bumper, as they change the look of the car entirely, sometimes you can get cheap ones on ebay, but they are a bit costly to paint.
Maybe could change side indicators, plus stubby aerial too? (not too expensive)
What wheels are you planning to get? Hartge220 Sep 4th, 2011, 09:52 PM I thought the car belong to your girlfriend 'Lexi' :puzzled: Stortford Sep 5th, 2011, 06:24 AM I thought the car belong to your girlfriend 'Lexi' :puzzled:
Yes it is Lexi's but she got a bit upset by another forum who were slating it. She has also refused to drive it until her private plates go on it.
Shes probably worried about it being petrol bombed or something LOL and I sure as hell aint gonna drive around in a car that looks like I am batting for the other side with a white roof and LV A panels. solidsponge Sep 5th, 2011, 07:27 PM Yes it is Lexi's but she got a bit upset by another forum who were slating it. l o l :) Stortford Sep 5th, 2011, 08:21 PM Dechrome done and aero grill kit ordered. Aussie Rob Sep 9th, 2011, 01:23 AM Looking very cool there, mate! Stortford Sep 11th, 2011, 03:42 PM Hopefully looking a little cooler now. Done the alloys and dropped it. MINIAC Sep 11th, 2011, 04:19 PM Sorry, but color coding the side skirts just accentuates their "blandness".
Have you considered fitting a MCS gas cap cover and painting it black? Stortford Sep 11th, 2011, 05:10 PM Sorry, but color coding the side skirts just accentuates their "blandness".

Yes I am going to get an MCS fuel flap and painting it.
Had to colour code the skirts and arches because it looked like the wheel gap was even bigger.
Colour coding is the way forward over here at the moment. stead34 Sep 11th, 2011, 06:36 PM Just commented on this car on a different thread so cut and paste....
Like the changes, wheels are fantastic, I may of keeped the black arches as it does seem too blue as if it still hasn't been demasked coming out of out of the bodyshop, so love the roof, wheels, colour combinations, but just a tad too much blue....
Ps, maybe some black vinyl to overcome that as the colour coded wheel arch's do suite the wheels, hartge has the right balance on the home page.... theredbaron Sep 12th, 2011, 06:19 PM Nice effort mate, car looks great now. Looks good. Much better than how it started out in the first pics.
Colour coded arches are a nice touch. wozzauk Sep 20th, 2011, 02:06 PM I'm loving those wheels. C00P3R2011 Sep 20th, 2011, 04:49 PM I was bored and had photoshop open, so had a quick go on what I would change. I'd probably put the mini badge back on the front as well.
Hope you don't mind?
