: Performance Upgrades in Australia Dawi03 Oct 22nd, 2011, 07:35 AM Hey guys I have a 2006 MCS Auto, and am wanting to try and get a bit more power out of her, What is the cheapest and easiest mod I can do myself?
Also I have heard that a cold air intake is probably the easiest without causing any trouble.... which sort of intake would be the best to get for an auto? also one that I am able to purchase in OZ?
Any help would be appreciated, im not that technical minded. scolburn79 Oct 23rd, 2011, 06:13 AM Nothing is available in OZ for these cars, you have to go OS. Keep the Airbox fully enclosed, so a JCW airbox is perfect but open up the back so it can suck the Cold air in from the Cowl area in front of the windscreen. Next would be a 15% S/C pulley, then a Catback. After that is all up to what you want to do. If you go the 15% S/C pulley remember to go 1 stage cooler Spark Plugs.
Where abouts are you located? Dawi03 Oct 23rd, 2011, 08:17 PM I'm located in Melbourne mate, can I buy and install the jcw air box myself? Is it easy to do? I'm not a mechanic by any means. I don't know if I want to do the pulley as I heard it wears out the engine and sc quicker. And I'm thinking a playmini exhaust?

I would suggest the Dave.f hybrid airbox, nice little mod, looks stock but really helps and a great noise...and because looking stock, easy to install, cheaper than JCW too!
No I am not related, just have one and is great.

Is there any places I can purchase in Victoria at all? or online with shipping from here?
will he ship to Melbourne though? rellik666 Oct 24th, 2011, 09:06 PM Yes of course, he posted it to me. He makes them himself so you won't get them anywhere else, but look through MINI Mods and everyone has one.
Your alternates are things like the Alta, you could contact BM Autowerks and see what John recommends in Oakleigh. He is an aftermarket BM garage, very helpful, can get good prices on OEM too. However if you are looking OEM contact Llyods in the UK, sponsor on here for a price, as he is usually cheaper with postage than you can buy locally.
