Hi guys, I have a question about tire and wheel spacing. I am looking to run a 215/45/17 tire on the stock MCS wheels which I have searched on these forums to find that is possible to do. Upon feeling behind the tire, I found that there is not even a finger width of space between the tire and the shock (strut) and I am starting to second guess that the wider tires will work without rubbing. I was just wondering if this is normal spacing for the MINI or if I have just wasted money on 215 width tires. Also, I read that wheel spacers are a no-no for these cars, but wanted to see if anyone else is having success with spacers. Though if I could get a 3mm or 5mm spacer on there maybe it'll help with clearance. Thanks.

I ran 215/45-17's on stock S-spokes with a 48mm offset without any problems :).

Thanks for the reply. I feel better now and can't wait to get this done.
