Hi everyone,

Just had a call from the wife who says our eml is on. Its half filled in black and is yellow as opposed to red.

She mentions some clicking and banging too and there is a loss of power.

I was out in it yesterday and it didn't really feel as though it was pulling very well.

The car is a 2007 Cooper S with about 54k miles. About 3k ago I changed the spark plugs which helped with a stutter that the car had developed.

My wife drives about a mile to work every day and at least once a week it has a good blast up the motorway for about 20 or 30 miles.

I love the car to bits but things like this leave me feeling a bit sick. It doesn't help when I read on here that it could be anything from a coil pack to a boost pressure sensor to a new turbo.

Is there anywhere near Doncaster where I could take it as I'd rather avoid main dealer prices if at all possible.

Please help.

Had it confirmed today that the turbo is at fault. Starved of oil is the cause.

Either £630 if ours can be rebuilt or £800 if we need a replacement.

Feel gutted about the whole thing. Not a good time just before christmas either.
