Hi All,
I recently purchased a 2002 (52) Cooper S (registered 12/2002) after wanting one for a good few years.
After having the car a little while, there are a few things that I'm wondering about...
1) The car has a rev counter with a computer reading - currently -40 degrees. The curious thing was that the indicator stalk did not have an OBC button on top (as my previous Cooper had). So I bought an R53 indicator stalk from a Mini spares place to install. I fitted the stalk and the button did not cycle through the options on the OBC, but when trying to indicate, the rear side lights became active. Does the Cooper S come with an OBC computer installed as default? I'm trying to work out whether I need to have it activated at BMW or maybe my outside temperature sensor if faulty? Any ideas would be really welcome.
2) The car did not come with front fog lights - is that normal? The holes are present, but there are two lose blanks hanging behind them.
Sorry if the questions have already been answered etc, but I'm just a little shocked that a car with such a "high" spec would not have the correct connections for the OBC installed and came without front fogs (for the record, it has full leather seats (blue and black two tone) so it seems that someone spent a lot of money on it when they bought it.
Thanks in advance
Mark
