I'm after some help on changing xenons on a facelift mk1 mini from rhd to a flat beam.
In the process of changing my 2004 BMW mini cooper s xenons from rhd beam to a flat beam I came across this issue....
The left hand lamp was changed in an instant - dead easy. This I'm sure is the original 2004 xenon.
Before switching - lever on left in level position...

now lever flicked down....

Result flat beam.
But on the right hand lamp - quite different - turns out this is a replacement 2008 headlamp....(it is definitely a facelift style light with the ring of little dots around the main xenon projector)

No sign of any crash damage, so assume this was just a faulty replacement xenon. I can't find a lever anywhere to change the beam shape....is this right, or is it just done differently?
I can see what looks like a small hex bolt in a slot (see top of this image below - its half way between the sticker at the very top and the braided cable connector) that looks like it might be the way to do it - I.e. Loosen bolt, twist lamp in holder, tighten bolt - bingo flat beam.
Ideally I'd like some confirmation this will work before I break it....

Or maybe this is an aftermarket xenon replacement and they cost saved on the lever? I'm hoping not!
