Hi Guys,

First post so don't flame me please -

Came back from Vacation to start the MCS '08 to find that the check engine light comes on. Constant on the center console and at start up on the display.

Any idea why?

Im sure its throwing a code, but I wont be able to check until tomorrow at the earliest with the dealer and its causing me some grief. Car was running fine when I left.

Ran it for a while thinking the battery was low, but after 3 more startups the engine light comes on.

Is this normal? Auto, 32k Kms on the car for those wondering.

Not normal. I've driven my race car 3 times in 9 months... average time between drives is 3 months between drives... only fault code was to do with the wheel sensor (corrosion - sorted itself after a quick drive).

Like you say, fault code is the first place to look. Let your baby tell you where it hurts ;)
