Hello,
I hope someone can help. I seem to be suffering from an oil leak. So over Christmas I set about the task of changing the Oil Pan Gasket. All parts are genuine from Mini. Whilst doing this I also changed all the engine mounts and super charger damper bushes to Polyflex bushes. I also replaced the fan belt, PCV valve, oil and filter.

Car currently has 35k on the clock and is a Mini Cooper S JCW.

After replacing the sump gasket I was hopeful that the oil leak was resolved, however it seems to be back.

The front of the engine is completely dry so its not the crank sensor. The left hand side of the engine is also dry so I'm sure its not the crank seal on the left. The actual Gasket around the sump also appears to be intact and dry. So I am pretty much at a loss.

I have read that the transmission bolts are generally over torqued which is why I waited a week and torqued them up a small amount more. This has actually created more of a leak.

Here is a picture of my baby:

now pictures of the oil leak:

Now I am open to any suggestions, and would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advanced.

That is my worst fear.

But one thing that leads me to believe that is not the crank seal is that fact it now seems to leak more after adding slightly more torque to the transmission bolts.

If it is the crank seal, is there a risk of oil contaminating the clutch?
