hi, my girlfriend finally found the right mini, 2007 cooper in mid blue with the usual white roof mirror combo, my only issue with the car is h4 headlight bulbs which are less than good , I've found led replacements for these along with the side lights but have come across different listings for the fog lights , the listing i get from the company that supply the car accessory store i work in are saying h7 but I've also seen listed h8, didn't really want to pull the car apart twice so can someone clear this one up ?

if it helps the car is a February 2007 (r56 ?) cooper,so 1st of the new shape with front headlights that do now lift with the bonnet, and have 1 large round light at the bottom of the front bumper that has side light at the top and fog below.

Hmmmm, LED headlight bulbs? To see the road better or just cause lots of bright white glare?

Since most of the LEDs in a LED bulb are not where the normal H4 filament is, the light doesn't go where it was designed to. So the light doesn't end up on the road, but lights up nearby trees beautifully.

Illegal too and won't pass an MoT, of course.

thanks for the advise , i've used nightbreakers in previous cars with great results but to be honest i'll probably end up with a hid upgrade kit , i was just going to try led's 1st as I wanted to keep all front lights the same look once there all done ,

and thanks for the info regarding legality anf beam issues with the led's

the law has changed over aftermarket hid kit..

MOT changes from 2012 | AA (http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/car-servicing-repair/mot-changes-2012.html)

Vehicles fitted with aftermarket HID systems must also be fitted with properly working washer and levelling systems.
