: Knocking Clubman 08 Cooper S - I need help!

I’ve recently purchased a Cooper S Clubman and I absolutely love it! However, I have strange knocking sound on the rear passenger side that sounds like a loose piece of wood every time I go over a bump. I’ve taken the parcel shelf cover out and jack etc and it’s still there. The right side is fine!

The car went into BMW last week and they replaced the rear bushes, but the knocking is there! It’s going back in on Friday. What’s even stranger is that when the car was return it’s developed a strange sound that emanates from the centre console and happens about every five minutes. It sounds like a small crow in the centre console!

Update - After nearly 24 hours spent on the car the dealer finally found and rectified both problems:

Centre console: the pollen filter was pushed to far up and was hitting the heating fans. Solved after the 5th visit.
Rear knocking: This was tracked back to a loose bolt on the rear seat belt. Solved after the 7th visit and a 4 page complaint letter.

Now I'm very happy!

I'm not sure if the Clubbie has the same catches but the rear seat catches often make a clunking noise if they are badly adjusted or dry. The dealers usually put copper grease on them or adjust them a bit and the noise goes away- until next time ;)
Is the 'crow' your climate control changing flow direction? Obviously, ignore this if you haven't got auto aircon.

I don't know if this is the answer or not but I had a knocking/rattle noise on the near side rear which turned out to be the rear passenger seat belt buckle hitting the side panel. I just make sure it's tucked in between the seat and panel and this has solved the problem.
