Hi all,
I have recently purchased a 2002 mini cooper s JCW.

I am trying to check the oil level but cannot locate the oil level MAX -MIN markers on the dip stick!

I am going to order a new one online, but would anyone mind emailing me a picture of theirs or a measurement from tip up, so that I can continue to service the car today/tomorrow.

My dipstick is of carbon fibre construction and has a 3cm yellow plastic tip.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Just had a look online for images of the dipstick. Should the levels be in the yellow part? Or on the carbon fibre part? I couldn't make any marking out on mine.
The owners manual says that there should be two notches; but the picture is different to the dipstick I have??

Hi

if you look at the yellow tip it has square sides with a grove down each face, you will see a dot about 4mm ish from the very tip that is your min mark
if you go the other way about 15mm ish there will be another dot thats you max
hope this helps you

Hi Tyrone

I have an 07 JCW, make sure you check the oil levels at least once a month, I don't do high mileage and get through about 2 litres a month!
