Hi i got new coupe sd bu have started to notice a ratlle from parcel shelf and the part behind the seats. Not sure if should go back as can mini do anything. Has anyone else had this issue. Apart from that loving the car.

It could be that the hatch lid has come loose....happened to me from being rear-ended. Tighten it by turning the the four rubber knob looking thingies used to increase or decrease the tension.....in a counter-clockwise direction. The rattling drove me nuts for 2+ months before I found the solution.

Cheers pal. Have now done this and solved so glad it was as easy as this as didn't fancy going down to dealers for them spend an entire day with the car to so a 1 min solution.

Hi guys

Ever since I got my Coupe a few weeks ago I have noticed a rattle coming from the left rear of the car. I initially thought that the base was rattling the speakergrill but i soon realised that the sound system was not at fault as the fault occurred when the stereo was turned off.

I have tried adjusting the boot tensioners as suggested by DC47, but warning lights kept coming up on the dash and speedo monitor saying that the boot was open. I kept adjusting the knobs until the warnings stopped. Unfortunately, the annoying rattle has not stopped.

Has anyone else come across this issue; if so how have you fixed it and is Mini aware of the problem? It is such a little problem, but once you have heard it, it is difficult to ignore :(

I've got a 2012 JCW Coupe and it has an annoying rattle that appears to be coming from the rear package tray or from the hatch itself. I've adjusted the rubber bumpers on the hatch, but it still rattles. I wedged foam in between the two package trays - it's better, but still rattles. Is it possible the spoiler is rattling inside the hatch? It doesn't seem to rattle once the rear spoiler deploys. The reviews of the JCW Coupe all mention the annoying rattle, but I haven't seen anyone offer a fix yet? Please help!

I have the exact same problem as Rob383 with my 2012 JCW Coupe. I too am looking for a solution that does not require a day at the dealer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MINI would probably say its a characteristic of the Coupe!
