Hi all,
just wanted your opinions on this...
Took my 54 plate MC in for MOT/service to dealership I bought it from 11 months ago(not a mini dealership, bought it used from VW dealership)
Got a phonecall saying they couldn't MOT it because radiator 'leaking from all four corners all over the ground' and that I'd need a new one PLUS new rear brake pads as they are '90% worn' PLUS four new runflats as they are 'illegal' PLUS new wipers! Needless to say I breathed a silent sigh of relief as surely a radiator would be covered by warranty....NOPE! Ok so how much?
Brake pads £191
Wipers £45
Tyes £110 each
Radiator £691.62!!!
Said I wanted to get a quote from somewhere else and got asked why and did I just want them to do the work? Er no! Sped down there with the courtesy car they'd given me (1.4 Urban Fox in custard yellow!) and got my car the hell outta there!
My mechanic has quoted £200 for radiator and other work will be cheaper there too.

Hi

Good move getting out of there :-)
You can replace your run flats with normal tires lots of people have done this, it's a lot cheaper option
You can carry a can of tire repair of retrofit a space saver if you want just check with you insurance

Brake pad kit from bmw are about £65 you can get parts from GSF or simalar around £30 ish it takes about hour and a half to change them easy job

You can get wiper blades from halfords anf they will fit the fir you :-) go for the bosch one there the same as the origanal mini ones :-)

Few links just a quick search But will give you an idea

Just a suggestion make a list of parts you need go to mini and ask the parts dept for a quote sometimes the origanal bits are not that exspensive also ask for a discount they normaly will :-)

Here are is a handy link for stuff mini Brake pads trim ect

Thanks for replies. Links were really useful and after more searching around I can't understand where the quote of nearly £700 for just the radiator came from!
