: The Green Machine - Opinions Wanted! Jason E Feb 9th, 2012, 11:04 AM Hi All,
I am the MINI Sales Manager at Dick Lovett MINI Bristol and am seeking some opinions on a bit of an experiment we have done....
We have taken a Cooper S Coupe and tried to make it look a little different!
Would love peoples thoughts on the car, good or bad but keep it clean:)
I would like to try and get customers much more involved with projects like this so am very open to suggestions for future ideas as well.
Many Thanks
Jason Hartge220 Feb 9th, 2012, 11:44 AM Wow! It's certainly a bright colour ,
I take it that it's vinyl wrapped?
Nice to see you are trying something different, not to my particular taste but I'm sure there will be someone out out there will bite your hand off for it  Jason E Feb 9th, 2012, 12:10 PM Yep it is a Matt wrap, took the chaps 3 days to do it!
Yes it is certainly a bit marmite like as to whether you would want to drive it but our main aim with it is bring some different and eye catching.
We are currently working on some other ideas at the moment so watch this space! Hartge220 Feb 9th, 2012, 12:31 PM Seen quite a few cars (different makes) in these brightly coloured wraps, blues, oranges etc. seem to be the in thing these days.
If I was a few years younger I'd probably have it done  SirRawlins Feb 9th, 2012, 12:55 PM I LOVE the car, it's incredibly unique - however, not sure I'd feel comfortable driving it.
There was one in my local dealer, in Matt Black wrap with bright yellow vipers and matching mirror caps - that looks lovely but wasn't quite as overpowering.
Hat's off to you for doing something different... after all, that's exactly what MINI is all about. fun. the_hitman86 Feb 9th, 2012, 01:56 PM It's certainly different but it's definitely not something I'd go for myself. minicore Feb 9th, 2012, 01:59 PM Not overly keen on the Coupe (do love the Roadster though), but I like what you've done. Strangely enough, I saw a Seat Leon Cupra R in almost exactly the same colour this morning...
The PDC sensors stick out a bit with not being wrapped, but other than that, good job - especially like what you've done with the wheels. :D Jason E Feb 9th, 2012, 02:31 PM Well Roadster preview evening is only 2 weeks away so I've got a couple of ideas for that as well.
Our first roadster actually turned up with us yesterday and it does look very nice, especially with the roof down!
First thought was to do the Matt Black but it has been done by a lot of manufacturers and in my opinion if we were doing a wrap on a MINI it had to be bold! mgwatson Feb 9th, 2012, 04:47 PM To be very blunt, and this is solely my opinion... You've taken an already ugly car and made it uglier. That green will definately do it job and turn some heads though! creedR56 Feb 10th, 2012, 07:23 AM Love the colour, hate the Coupe. RobbieA Feb 10th, 2012, 02:12 PM I like what you have done but (there is always a but) for me it would look better if the roof was also green and the black stripes ran all the way from front to back.
It is great to see a Mini dealer doing this sort of thing and I applaude you for it. I am not a young Mini owner at 66 but I am a life long petrol head now on my 3rd Mini, a Countryman SD All 4.
Keep it up and the next time I come up the M5 to Bristol I will pop in and take a look.
Well done.
Robbie Stuart89 Feb 10th, 2012, 09:15 PM I actually love that, it all works really well and will definately stand out. Good job! JRC65 Feb 11th, 2012, 08:34 PM I like it a lot even though I am a bit long in the tooth.
If you could see your way to doing a straight swap for my 06 Cooper then I would happily drive it around to show your work off advertising your projects:wink: Sportspack Mark Feb 12th, 2012, 05:59 PM certainly will catch potential customers eyes! rhys1501 Feb 12th, 2012, 06:34 PM Looks pretty cool, but as said above, wouldn't go for it myself. Especially being matt and not being able to polish it!
Looks better on this.. : mexico le mans green - Google Search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mexico+le+mans+green&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=jRM4T73FHcrS8gO94pCgAg&biw=768&bih=928&sei=lxM4T6OqI4GW8gP79tGuCA) chumz93 Feb 12th, 2012, 06:56 PM Absolutely beautiful, love everything unusual about it it's like the hulk powerful would definitely love to own this car one day :D Jason E Feb 13th, 2012, 07:20 AM Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Does anyone have any other ideas for something a bit whacky or querky they would like to see done? waznotme Feb 13th, 2012, 08:17 AM Great colour combo, looks cool. RobbieA Feb 13th, 2012, 08:34 AM Thanks for the feedback everyone.

How about a Countryman S or SD with a matt metalic finish, perhaps grey with orange roof and wheels:cool:? Vhyper Feb 16th, 2012, 03:53 AM Looks like a lighter version of my R53!

If you're looking to do something different colour wise i'd stick to manufacturer colours that aren't available on the MINI, i went with Lamborghini Ithaca Verde on mine although mine's painted not wrapped (company demo car ) but there's plenty of others to choose from..
Porsche Signal Green
Cosworth Imperial Blue
Dodge Plum Crazy Purple
just to name a few but there's plenty of possibilities!
It's nice to see a dealership aside from Park Lane willing to experiment making MINIs that little bit different :nice:
It'd be nice to see some with a few modifications on but i don't know what the policy is on something like that over here... i know in Germany & some dealers in the U.S. had a couple of special cars built by aftermarket tuners simply to sell because they were different... | |
