I've been building low budget rally cars since 1987. A MK2 Escort 1.6 was my first car which I developed over several years as my driving skills improved, until I had a big "off" Then I moved to a RWD MK3 Escort which took too long to build so I moved to an MG Maestro 2.0EFI fitted with MK2 Escort Bilstein struts (yes modified to fit FWD) Then I moved to a Subaru Legacy AWD and then a Suzuki Swift GTI fitted with Subaru suspension. Basically I use what's out there to build the best I can without breaking the bank.I build everything, engine, gearbox etc and have lots of sponsors. I've rallied in the UK , U.A.E, Jordan, Lebanon, USA and Costa Rica winning championships along the way. I use all my rally cars as a daily driver , I drive to the events, do my service and hopefully go to work after the rally!

So with the Suzuki getting old and the Mini now in the WRC I thought it would be a good project to do seeing what parts from other cars fit!

I'm going to be pain with my questions but I hope the end result win be a winning car in Costa Rica.

I don't need the following,

Interior
A/C system
Air bags
ABS braking system
wiring/fuel/brake lines outside the car
all wiring looms connected to stuff I've removed
all sound deadening material
Sound system(I have the engine to listen too)
Rear wash/wipe ( I need only to see forward haha)
Standard brake pads.
Standard head lights
donut spare wheel

When I got the car the idle was rough on #2 then I found out the spark plug thread was striped, then I found out it had been sav-a-thread repaired which also failed. So I bought a big sert kit and fixed the problem. Still the engine runs rough an idle and gets better around 3000rpm. I'm going to do a compression check as the turd that did the previous insert could have bent the valves. do the injectors go bad?
