So my heating is only blowing cold, I have recently discovered that the bit of plastic i stupidly pulled the other day in the drivers footwell is related to the heating and i might have broken something. What can i do to fix this?

Is your coolant level ok (between Mini and Max) and no air in the cooling system as this can result in a cold heater?
What is the bit of plastic exactly or have you a picture of it?
