Hi there,

Ist timer so do hope someone is out there to give a bit of advice.

Mini cooper S on a 56 plate which reg as a late 06.
Temperature gauge shoots up and then red light comes on when standing in traffic.
Switched off immedialtly, fan stayes running. When started back up and started to drive car ok whilst driving, as soon as come to a halt i can see gauge rising instantly with red warning light again.
Water levels are ok.
I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Recall fault?
BMW say my car not on recall list although i can see information says it falls within the specified time for the recalls of March 2006 - Jan 2011.

Any thoughts on this would be great....Thanks

Hi ya

If you have had no had any work done on the car recently, I would get your thermostat checked out, sounds like it might be sticking half open.
If that does not fix it I would look at the water pump it's self ma be shot.

Hope this helps

Erm, am I being a bit thick? What temp gauge? I'd love to have one on my clubby.

The thread originator may have a 1st Gen MCS and posted in the wrong forum.
