I'm not that into mods and they are generally expensive down here anyways. Does changing the orange indicator bulbs to silver ones count? ;)

Hey mate,

i have a couple of cheap mods i did to my car (You're not going to notice a HUGE difference, but it's there)

1) NGK Iridium IX Spark plugs - Cost - Eur40
2) MSD Ignition Coil Pack - Cost - Eur 70
3) 8mm Spark Plug Wires - Cost - Eur 20

With these 3 mods alone, i have a smoother running car, better fuel economy, and the car engine runs better at high RPM

On a side note, i have done some other CHEAP work, and while they're not really mods, they made a HUGE difference!

1) Changed the gearbox oil (transmission fluid) to Redline MTL. (BMW say that the oil is lifetime, but there is NO oil in the world that is lifetime). After this change, gears where MUCH smoother

2) Changed the fuel filter - Cost - Eur10
After changing the filter, i got even better fuel economy and the car sounded better

3) Changed serpentine belt - Cost - Eur 40
The belt dries out after some time and starts to slip which decreases boost, after the change, i noticed more supercharger boost

4) Changed supercharger oil - Cost - Eur 20
There was little oil left in the supercharger and after the change, i felt the supercharger more smooth

I hope that this helps a little
Regards,
Andrew

Which generation and model(s) are you interested in? I guess from your introductory post first gen Cooper?

Performance or cosmetic? Interior or exterior?

I have a 2004 MINI Cooper S, but all the mods (apart from the supercharger oil) can be done on all MINIs
