Heavy clutch pedal - R53 cooper works
I have just bought a R53 Cooper works ( july 2006) with 40000 miles.
It has been remapped to 230bhp with sports exhaust/ manifold etc.
A great car !
However the clutch pedal is quite ' heavy' - is this normal or a sign of potential problem.
Any advice appreciated.

in a word YES, My went before Christmas pedal was heavy for quite a while but because it in use every day the heavy clutch just felt normal, but then it got so bad that after driving home my left ankle would swell up and was pretty unusable, being a dual mass flywheel flywheel an clutch has to be changed. :(

Yes it is normal. As said above if you want to change it you also have to change the flywheel. Expensive stuff.

The clutch has two cylinders: a main cylinder and a 'help'cylinder. It could be the help cylinder is faulty: cheap and easy fix. Will set you back £100 max :)
