Hi
Out this morning drove a couple of miles. Parked up Started Car after about
A minute what I think is engine management light came on the central display.
Looks like a gearbox. Would not go off Car drove ok but would not go above about 35 mph felt like it was missing and holding back.
Parked up for 5 minutes switched on gave it a bit of a clear out
Light seems to be staying off car driving ok.
When I got home noticed the Fan was on stayed on for about 5 mins after switching off. Just been out drove about 2 miles
Fan was on again when I parked up.
Water in coolant bottle is up to the mark.
Any ideas

Update:
Fan comes on at all times even on short
Journeys. Have it booked in for water pump
Replacement this Monday coming. Wondering if they can find what's wrong

Hi ya

If the water temp is getting hot because the water in not circulating round the system the fan will be on trying to cool the coolant in the system. There may be nothing wrong with the fan red hering as they say. it's just doing its job but being let down buy the pump or thermostate.
It could be the pump causing over heating or thermostate.

Came out this morning started the car Fan cme on straight away. Could the Temp switch be on the Blink. its going in Monday for the Water Pump recall
not driving it till then. Will see if BMW can work out whats up with it.
