Hi all.

I hope someone can help. I've just bought an 03 Cooper S with a few niggles inside (and out come to that..) not right.

First off, the central rev counter reads -40c temp all the time. Can't I switch this? I've looked for the onboard computer but I mustn't have it.. Does ot have a fuse to it that I could try?

thanks in advance..

Hi Jackywhite,

Unfortunataly you have 1 of 2 things:

1) the temp sensor is faulty or there is some loose wiring.

2) You have no temperature sensor (i.e. maybe during a service or some repair work to the front, they took it off and forgot to put it back on)

Just F.Y.I. The outside temperature sensor is located inthe front grill, it's a black point (like thin piece of tube)

No Problem J

I have the same problem, i bought my MINI Cooper S and that -40 was really annoying me. i ended up wasting a day taking off the bumper and the radiator and all the front stuff to find the air temp sensor, turned out i bought it without one -_-

The best of luck on fixing your temp sensor

Andrew
